RENDE VINEYARD (BLEWITT SPRINGS)
Michael Rende, an Italian immigrant, embarked on a journey to Australia, following in the footsteps of the pioneering vignerons who have contributed to the country's winemaking legacy. With unwavering determination and the support of his family, he dedicated his evenings and weekends to clearing the land of scrub and bush, preparing the sandy Blewitt Springs block for planting in the late 1960s. Simultaneously, he successfully managed a concreting business in southern Adelaide. His son, Robert, played an integral role in those early days and currently co-manages the vineyard alongside Vanguardist, residing on the estate.
Since 2015, Vanguardist has been cultivating the remarkable old vine goblet Grenache, which holds a special place as the prized jewel in our collection of wines and vineyards. It brings us immense joy to work closely with Robert and actively engage in hands-on collaboration. As part of our commitment to sustainable practices, we have embraced full organic viticulture, although not yet certified. This transition signifies our dedication to nurturing the vineyard and producing wines of exceptional quality.
